Welcome to Troop 265's Website!

Troop 265 was established in 1972 and is chartered by Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Flower Mound, Texas. The troop averages 50-70 registered scouts and has produced over 120 Eagle scouts.

We meet every Monday (except Mondays following the monthly campout or LISD holidays) at the Scout Hut at Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 1401 Cross Timbers Road, Flower Mound, TX 75028. For more information, or to schedule a visit, please use the Contact Us link on the left.

Committee Meeting April 20th- All parents welcome!

Our April Committee Meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 20th at 7pm via Zoom virtual meeting space. The primary purpose of this meeting is to review and approve our 2020-2021 Troop budget, and we will do our best to keep the meeting within our standard one-hour time frame (timing will depend on everyone's comfort with technology). 
 
An agenda, meeting link, and proposed budget will be emailed out next week (several days before the meeting).

Keep Advancing!

Scouts, Even though we're not meeting in person, you can keep moving ahead by earning Merit Badges and rank advancements!  We've come up with plans to keep the processes very similar to our standard ones.  Parents and scouts, to follow YPT guidelines, please ensure at least 2 adults are included on all communications including texts, e-mails, telephone calls, video calls, etc.

Merit Badges

  • If you've already started a badge and have a Counselor, just keep on working with them
  • If you've started a badge, but need a counselor, Mrs. Diermeier can help you find one
  • If you want to start a new badge, email Mr. Kidwell for approval, then contact the Mrs. Diermeier who will start a blue card and help you find a Counselor
  • When requirements or badges are completed, your Counselor can email Mrs. Diermeier to record your progress
  • We'll finish the blue cards when we can meet again

 

Rank Advancements

  • If scouts below Star rank want to work on rank advancement requirements, reach out to an older scout (Star rank or above) or leader for assistance.  Contact Kyler at spltroop265@gmail.com to have an older Scout assigned to you.
  • When you’ve completed a requirement, the older scout or leader can email Mrs. Diermeier to record it.  You can put the date in your scout book, and we’ll initial it when we are able to meet again.
  • If you’ve completed all requirements to advance to the next rank, email Mrs. Diermeier.  She’ll work with Kyler and Mr. Kidwell to help set up an online Scout Spirit, Scoutmaster Conference and Board of Review.
  • We’ll get everything signed-off and recognize your advancement at our next Court of Honor.

BARTLE BUZZ

It may seem like a long way away, but our summer camp at Bartle is just around the corner.  The camp leadership team is hard at work scheduling merit badges and planning for a fun-filled event.  Bartle camp is a great way for first year scouts to get engaged with the troop while earning a lot of merit badges and working on the trail to First Class.  Camp this year is from June 3rd through the 13th. There are two important Bartle meetings coming up.  First there is Bartle Q&A session scheduled for Wednesday April 22nd at 7:00 pm via Zoom.  This meeting is open to everyone, and is a great way for new parents/scouts to learn what Bartle is all about.  The log in information is below:

Second, there is a mandatory meeting for all attending Scouts and parents scheduled for May 4th at 7:00pm in the scout hut.  This meeting is to cover specific details for camp.  I'm looking forward to talking with all of you and to a great summer camp.

Class B Shirts-Ordering Window Extended Through May 1st
 
Our Class B manufacturer is currently closed due to COVID-19 so we have some extra time to order shirts.  If you would like to place an order, please click on the link for the order form.  Orders will need to be placed through the mail until the social distancing rules are relaxed.
