Robotics Merit Badge over the Winter Break – RSVP by 12/7

Posted on Nov 26 2020 - 7:20pm

Scouts, are you interested in earning your Robotics merit badge over the winter break?  Wize Academy offers a 2-hour on-line session, during which most scouts complete the badge.  You’ll not only design, build, program and test a virtual robot, but you'll also learn about the robotics industry, careers and competitions.  A fee of $25 must be paid online before the class to cover the cost of development.  If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Diermeier by 12/7 with your availability between 12/21 and 1/1.  There is a minimum class size of 5 scouts, so please RSVP soon.

Winter Court of Honor Sunday, December 6th from 4 - 5

Posted on Nov 26 2020 - 7:16pm

Troop 265, Mark your calendars for our Win Court of Honor Sunday, December 6th from 4:00 to 5:00!  We hope to meet outside and have everyone bring lawn chairs (like we did in August), but we have a room reserved at the church in case the weather is bad.  Please sign up on the website, as we hope to have a small treat for all scouts who sign up.  Scouts, if you are working on merit badges or rank advancements, please complete your requirements and communicate with Mrs. Diermeier by the end of November in order to ensure your advancement will be recognized at this event.

Gear Give Away at December Court of Honor

Posted on Nov 26 2020 - 7:14pm
Hey Troop 265.  Do you need an extra sleeping bag, or maybe a water bottle or camping chair?  Well you may be in luck!  Over the years we have acquired extra gear through donations or unclaimed items left after campouts.  All this gear will be in the scout hut on the main tables (in the center of the room)  during the December Court of Honor.  Please feel free to look through the items and take anything you or your family can use.  Anything that is not taken at the Court of Honor will be donated either to Lamb of God for their garage sale or to other troops that can use it.

Shoe Donations

Posted on Nov 26 2020 - 7:09pm
Have you cleaned out your closet lately? You may not realize it but those shoes you keep saying you're going to wear but never do have value!  Pack 163 is collecting gently worn, used and new shoes to raise money and needs your help! We're looking for all types of shoes: sneakers, casual shoes, dress shoes, ANY type of shoes.  We'll be paid per pound for the shoes by Funds2Orgs. The shoes go to developing nations and micro-entrepreneurs so they can help themselves out of poverty!  Please make sure the shoes are still wearable with no holes.
How can you help?  Please bring your shoes to the next troop meeting or any meeting from now until the end of November and give to Joshua Kohn. Questions?  Contact Gina Kohn 972-880-3778 or gmkohn@aol.com.  See the attached flyer for more info.
