H. Roe Bartle Summer Camp 2018

Posted on Oct 22 2017 - 6:54pm

Session 4  July 6th-16th   - Lonestar Camp- Bartle Scout Reservation-  Osceola Missouri

Session 5  July 17th-26th - Lonestar Camp- Bartle Scout Reservation-  Osceola Missouri

Our Troop must submit our request for preferred dates and Camp by the end of October.  We must also send in our deposit to hold the reservation.  Currently, Session 4 conflicts with the Seabase Treks.  However, the dates for our Seabase Trek are 'in play', so they may move.

There are many moving components with all the Summer Actiivities our Troop has for 2018.  My hope is that we will nail down a solid date for our Seabase crews before we submit our dates for Bartle.    When we do submit our Session Request for Bartle, it is just that, a request.  We will not know what dates we get until mid-November.

Our Troop must pre-register for Summer Camp.  We need as accurate numbers as we can get before October 28th.  Please sign up ASAP, as we will need to collect and send in a deposit for our reservation.  The draw for our spot at camp is at the very beginning of November, 2017!  SIGN UP NOW!

5 Mile Hike for Second Class and First Class requirements

Posted on Oct 21 2017 - 11:29am
Scouts interested in working on 2nd Class requirements 3a and 3b and/or 1st Class requirement 4 are invited to join Jeff Scott and Donna Diermeier for a 5 mile hike along with compass, map and distance-estimating activities.  We will meet in the parking lot just outside the gate entry to Pilot Knoll Park at 1:00 pm on Sunday, 10/22.  Scouts should bring a back pack with water, snack, and compass.  Please wear comfortable hiking shoes and appropriate clothing.  The current forecast shows cool weather (high of 72), and it may be muddy if it rains Saturday.  Scouts also have the option to bring a walking stick and/or a camera to take pictures of animals (for 2nd class requirement #4).  We anticipate being back between 3:30 and 4:00, and will text parents around 3:00 with an updated return time to meet back at the Pilot Knoll entrance.
